Tiffani’s research explores the digital practice of children and young people across everyday life and education contexts. Tiffani’s work critically engages with popular digital discourses associated with children and young people, paying attention to the ways that children, parents and teachers engage with digital systems, platforms and tools. Examples of her recent work include examinations of school social media practice, the integration of Ed Tech in schools, children’s gaming behaviours.
Tiffani has an interest in the ways that children’s lives intersect with digital technologies, including impacts on children, teachers, parents, schools and school systems. Her research draws on sociological and psychological theory to understand and support children and young people to develop digital practices to positively participate in their contemporary lives.
Tiffani Apps serves as the Associate Academic Program Director Digital Technologies for Learning and Co-Head of Postgraduate Studies in the School of Education.
