Professor Yvonne Rogers is internationally renowned for her work in human-computer interaction (HCI), interaction design and ubiquitous computing. Yvonne’s research focusses on the design and development of novel technology for children and how they can support learning, wellbeing and social connectedness. Yvonne will contribute expertise to the Educated Child program, focusing on the application of techniques from HCI for the design, development and evaluation of children’s technology. Yvonne hopes that her work in the Centre will help researchers from all over the world with different backgrounds and perspectives, work together to provide new understandings, insights and advice on how children grow up in our burgeoning digital world.

Yvonne was one of the principal investigators on the UK Equator Project (2000-2007) where she pioneered ubiquitous learning. She has published widely, beginning with her PhD work on graphical interfaces to her recent work on public visualisations and behavioural change. More recently, she was a PI for the Intel Collaborative Research Institute (ICRI) on sustainable and connected cities. Yvonne is Professor of Interaction Design at University College London (UCL), the director of UCL Interaction Centre and a deputy head of the UCL Computer Science department.
