Dr. Tara Roberson has worked in public communication, research management, and partner engagement for ten years. She has worked in several Centres of Excellence and a Defence-funded Cooperative Research Centre. Tara has a background in science communication and is currently an elected member of the Network for the Public Communication of Science and Technology’s Scientific Committee.

She holds a PhD in science communication from the Australian National University (2020) as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in communication (public relations and science communication) from the University of Queensland.

Tara is passionate about equity and diversity in higher education and STEM; she has previously co-edited a book on queering science communication and – for four years – worked on a university-wide Ally Action Committee at UQ and delivered LGBTIQA+ Ally training for staff. She is a member of the QUT LGBTIQA+ Working Party.
