Yanxia Li is conducting research in the field of Child-Computer Interaction and Human-Food Interaction on the lands of the Turrbal and Yugara people where QUT now stands. She believes that connecting children to their local food systems can foster a deep relationship with nature, people and food. She is exploring how digital technology can encourage children to engage in growing, eating, and composting food, aiming for a more sustainable, fairer, and healthier way of living. Her work has been shaped by her personal and research experiences, as well as the generous support of her supervisors, colleagues, and peers at QUT and Digital Child Centre.

Earliest digital memory

Perhaps my earliest digital memory is playing Super Mario Bros., jumping over Goombas, finishing levels, and moving on to new worlds. Little did I know, life would be the same game: victory matters, but so do the challenges, the joy, and the friends who shared the controller with you along the way.
