Dr Robbie Fordyce studies digital systems from the workplace through to the home and everywhere in between. Dr Fordyce is focusing on a project exploring the parameters available for parents in governing access to digital games.

By understanding the limits and scope of governance, we can understand how digital platforms are influencing the way parents and children understand social rules and their technical implementation.

First digital memory

I remember using MacPaint as a young sprog, where I would set a 8-way mirror effect and then start scribbling with the pen or spraycan. I loved to just watch as these incredible shapes bloomed on the screen. Some looked like flowers, others like star fields, most looked like nothing in particular, but were captivating either way. In this, it shaped my thinking around the personal and creative experiences with computers.
