I am a PhD candidate at the School of Communication, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). My research focuses on digital skills among former child brides in Indonesia. Indonesia has one of the highest rates of child marriage in Southeast Asia, and although the legal age for marriage is 19, many girls still marry below this age often with limited access to education and digital opportunities. I aim to explore how digital skills can support empowerment and social inclusion for these young women.

I am also a lecturer in the Communication Department at a public university in Indonesia, where I teach and conduct research on gender and media.

Earliest digital memory

My earliest digital memory was in 1995 when I was in kindergarten. My father bought a Windows computer, and I still remember it took quite a long time to boot up. I would sit patiently, collecting my excitement while watching the screen come to life. The first game I played was SkiFree, and that experience sparked my curiosity about the digital world.
