Niamh Ní Bhroin is a researcher at the Department of Media and Communication at the University of Oslo (‘IMK’). Her research investigates how digitalisation influences, and is shaped by, the everyday lives of children and young people. She currently coordinates the interdisciplinary Children, Youth and Media group at IMK together with Professor Elisabeth Staksrud. She is also a founding board member of the Centre for Research on Media Innovations. Her PhD (2015) explored how young adults with minority and Indigenous backgrounds engaged in social innovation to promote and use their languages in digital media. Ní Bhroin works primarily with ethnographically informed digital research methods, including observation, interviews and creative research practice
