As Deakin University’s Business Support Officer, Loretta is responsible for being the ‘first point of call’ at Deakin, supporting the Deakin research team in all things communicative, administrative and organisational, and supporting collaboration between the Centre universities. Loretta also coordinates the Centre’s International Perspectives blog, is an editor of the Digital Child Working Paper series, and is co-chair of the Research Infrastructure, Support and Transdisciplinarity (RIST) Portfolio.
Loretta’s brings to her role more than eight years in the communications industry, having worked a copywriter and communications consultant in the finance, media and advisory/policy sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Cultural Studies) and a Master of Professional Communication (Public Relations and Professional Writing).
Loretta hopes that kids can learn to make the best use of their digital world, and to make the most of the opportunities that digitalisation brings – like having education and connectivity at their fingertips.

As a child, sneaking onto my brother’s Gameboy to play Donkey Kong. As a teen, jumping on MSN Messenger after school to chat with friends!
