• Loretta Watson
  • Business Support Officer
  • Deakin University

Loretta brings to her role more than eight years in the communications industry, having produced copywriting and editing work within a range of industries for both print and online media, including websites, online courses, member newsletters and articles/blogs. Her communications roles have stretched into marketing where she gained extensive experience managing content management systems and email marketing campaigns. Her most recent role was working for a policy and advisory company that supports organisations in implementing best-practice, family-friendly workplace policies and culture. It was in this role that Loretta produced communications for the first National Working Families Survey and other national events such as the Aussie Dads Photography Exhibition.

As Deakin University’s Business Support Officer, Loretta is responsible for being the ‘first point of call’ at Deakin, supporting the Deakin research team in all things communicative, administrative and organisational, and supporting collaboration between the Centre universities. Loretta hopes that kids can learn to make the best use of their digital world, and to make the most of the opportunities that digitalisation brings – like having education and connectivity at their fingertips.

Earliest digital memory
As a child, sneaking onto my brother’s Gameboy to play Donkey Kong. As a teen, jumping on MSN Messenger after school to chat with friends!
