Dr Kelly Bittner’s research focusses on how early childhood educators use digital technology to support assessment and evaluation in early childhood education and care, with a particularly interest in digital documentation and GenAI. She also has a strong interest in theory, qualitative research methods, and research that includes children and adults as co-researchers.
Kelly’s research has informed and been driven by her work as an academic in early childhood education, specialising in digital technology, maths, science, play, and pedagogy. She also brings a wide range of experience in the early childhood education and care sector. This includes working as an early childhood teacher and service director in Australia and New Zealand, primary school teaching in the UK and also working in early childhood regulatory and quality assessment spaces at both a state and federal level.
