Kate Fitzgerald is an early career researcher based at Curtin University. Her PhD at the University of Western Australia explored how social-ecological environments support adolescent wellbeing and resilience within the school context. With a background in population health and qualitative inquiry, her work has focused on the social determinants of health and wellbeing within vulnerable populations. Her work is driven by a commitment to nuanced, inclusive research with a strong emphasis on real world application. Through her work at the Centre, she hopes to support research that enables children and families to engage with evolving technologies in ways that enhance wellbeing and positive development.

I remember sitting at the family computer, listening to the dial up screech and hoping no one needed to use the phone. I grew up in that in between era – not offline, but not always online.
