Dr George Thomas will undertake high quality research to understand digital technology use in children, including developing better measurement of technology use and postures/movement of children through wearable cameras and sensors. Through his work with the Centre, George hopes to better understand the extent, nature, and context of digital technology use in young children and help parents better manage the digital technology use of their offspring.

In 2020, George was awarded the best “m-health” oral presentation at the 2020 International Society for Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity Virtual Congress. He also led a successful ethics application concerning the use of wearable cameras to investigate adolescents’ screen exposure in free-living conditions (2020). George completed this PhD in Health Sciences at the University of Southern Queensland where he examined screen-based behaviours among children and adolescents.
