Dr Shannon Edmed’s research examines associations between digital technology supports (e.g., online tools, resources, and communities) and children’s mental health and wellbeing. Shannon’s work also focuses on the relationship between digital technology use and children’s sleep and activity. Shannon hopes her work in the Centre will support educators, health practitioners, and parents/carers confidently navigate the digital world to better support children’s mental health and wellbeing. Her vision is that children feel empowered to use digitial technologies in ways that optimise their physical and emotional health and wellbeing, and that they also develop resilience to manage the risks encountered in an evolving digital world.
