Dr Jade Burley was a PhD candidate on The Preschool Activity, Technology, Health, Adiposity, Behaviour and Cognition (PATH-ABC) study. Her PhD specifically examined the influence of electronic media use and physical activity on cognitive and psychosocial development in preschool children across the Illawarra. Since then, Jade has obtained >$2.6M of research income as a named investigator on projects that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of children across Australia.

Jade is an alumni of the Centre having contributed to the Centre as a Research Fellow in the Healthy Child program and contributor to ACODA. Jade specifically focused on associations between the contextual factors of children’s digital technology use and health outcomes. Jade hopes this research will help parents, children, educators and policy makers to navigate the ever changing and evolving digital world that we live in. Her vision for all children to be able to utilise digital technologies to enhance and optimise health, wellbeing, education and connectedness, and to truly embed digital technologies in our lives for the better.
