I work on combining wearable devices with deep learning methods to better understand children’s physical activity and everyday behaviours. At the Centre, I contribute to developing digital tools that make accelerometer-based assessment of children’s physical activity more reliable and scalable, helping capture behaviour accurately across different daily environments.
First digital memory
My earliest digital memory was playing Age of Empires II on a Windows PC when I was young. I was fascinated by how a piece of software could create entire worlds, rules and interactions. That experience sparked my curiosity about how computers think, and it eventually grew into a long-term interest in programming, algorithms and system design. What started as a childhood game later shaped my academic path, leading me toward computing, machine learning, and ultimately, my current research in digital health and wearable sensor technologies.
