Birgitta Puspita is a Ph.D student at School of Arts and Humanities, Edith Cowan University. She is also a lecturer at Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta (UAJY) Indonesia – Department of Communication Science. Since 2017, her research focus has shifted towards crucial issues such as digital literacy, including parental mediation, digital communities; and digital media content for children. In addition, she has actively engaged in community empowerment, such as in parent groups and elementary school educators for the same topics.
Her interest in the use of digital media in the family with young children has led her to specific topic of research. She is interested to investigate the crucial role of parents in developing children’s digital literacy through everyday conversations within the familial environment, particularly in the context of Indonesian families.

I remember I played Pacman with my brother in 1990’s, when we got our first PC with DOS.
