Associate Professor Audrey Cooke is dedicated to transforming how future educators engage with mathematics. With a lifelong enthusiasm for the subject, she is motivated by the challenge that many in the community find maths stressful or intimidating.
At Curtin University, Audrey works closely with preservice early childhood educators, guiding them to re-envision mathematics—not just as numbers and formulas, but as a dynamic, accessible, and confidence-building discipline. Her teaching focuses on helping educators recognize their own capabilities and develop the confidence to engage meaningfully with maths.
Audrey’s role offers a unique dual impact: she provides her students with new, positive experiences of mathematics, and through them, influences the way young children will encounter and enjoy maths in their early learning years.
