Developing Inclusive Cultural Probes for Creative Qualitative Inquiry – Investigating Everyday Technology Use in Homes of Children with a Disability
About the project
Families and children with disabilities navigate digital technologies as part of the complex ecology of multipurpose devices and family practices (e.g., therapeutic, assistive, educational and technologies for fun and leisure).
The first stage of this project will investigate how children and families domesticate and make sense of these technologies in their everyday social interactions at home– i.e.., during therapeutic activities, through everyday family rituals and routines, during leisure, to connect, prior to sleep etc.). The project will also explore co-design opportunities for the creation of new technological artefacts supporting children`s engagement in learning, social interaction, and communication.
