Parental access of information about digital technology use for their children
About the project
When navigating parenting during the first five years of a child’s life, parents commonly seek information about a range of different topics. Currently, it is unclear what factors influence a parent’s information seeking practices, and if there is a relationship between their information seeking practices and their family digital technology use practices.
This study aims to investigate the associations between sociodemographic and family factors and how parents seek information about children’s digital technology use. The study also aims to investigate the associations between information seeking practices and family digital technology use.
Findings from this study will assist in informing where information about children’s digital technology use for parents can best be placed, thus assist in facilitating the guidance and empowerment that parents seek when navigating digital technology use with their children.
