Children’s Parliament
Hear about children’s experiences, perspectives, and hopes regarding digital technologies
The Digital Child Children’s Parliament brings together primary school students from ACT schools to share their experiences, perspectives, and hopes regarding digital technologies.
Children will act in the role of parliamentarians and read prepared speeches to invited guests in the House of Representatives chamber at Old Parliament House. The event is designed to elevate children’s voices while encouraging informed, democratic participation from the youngest members of our community.
Children will discuss issues central to their daily lives, including digital wellbeing, online safety, and how technology shapes their learning and relationships. Their contributions will help build understanding of how policy and community action can better support safe digital futures. A panel of adult stakeholders will also be convened to respond to children’s speeches and engage in dialogue with them around the issues raised.
