Lesson Plan: Empowering kids across the social media delay

On December 10, the Australian Government’s Social Media Delay will come into action.

To support primary school teachers and children, we have produced teaching and learning materials for use in the lead up to December 10 and beyond.

Digital Child researchers have talked with kids about the social media delay and their questions and concerns.

The teaching and learning materials have been developed to support primary school kids and their teachers to have a chat about the delay, explore the impacts, and take action.

The Digital Child invites all Australian primary school teachers and kids to chat about the delay.

We encourage teachers to create space in their classrooms where kids can ask questions, get answers and share tips for other primary school kids across the country.

Children can design a poster with top tips for other Aussie kids.

Schools can celebrate and share children’s work by submitting their posters to the Digital Child for display on our website and social media channels.

Children can take their posters home to have a chat with their families about what the changes mean for them.
